The Glendon Bar and Grill
Los Angeles natives recall the days when Westwood was the epicenter of Los Angeles dining and nightlife. In April, the City's statured was restored. The Glendon Bar & Kitchen ("The Glendon"), an upscale lounge bar, heavy on sophistication but without the velvet rope attitude or price tag, just reintroduced Westwood to Southern California.
A cool relaxed atmosphere where cocktails and patrons are king, The Glendon offers a little something for everyone. Specialty drink and martini menus are tailored to the calorie and cost conscious (ladies take note: diet sodas and reduced calorie spirits abound). Double nightly happy hours (at 4:00PM-7:00PM and 10:00PM-12:00AM) cater to the after work crowd, daters, and late night denizens. Signature cocktails incorporate The Glendon style, comfortable and chic, with a few old fashioned high-balls thrown in for good measure. And, to create a hint of the amorous, wine sold by the glass is listed by first date, second date, or third date.
Foodies are equally impressed. The Glendon features full lunch and dinner cuisines serving California bistro comfort food. For those craving a midnight snack, reduced price appetizers are served until last call. Diners are encouraged to save room for dessert. Pastry chef Renee Faris of TLC's "Cake Boss" fame signed on to create sugary confections that have Angelenos crying "sweet tooth."
The d?cor and ambience epitomize laid back sexy. Vaulted wood ceilings gives The Glendon a feeling of spaciousness, while the venue's semi-circular design keeps it intimate. Custom-made bar couches and wing chairs, designed by high-end hospitality furniture designer Jecco, adorn throughout. The palette is earthy with shades of green, chocolate and espresso. Dimly lit crystal chandeliers set the mood.
